The sturdy construction involves a precisely cut aluminum back which forms the shape of the letter. The sides, known as returns, wrap around this base. After painting, they’re illuminated using neon gas tubes or LEDs, and sealed with a translucent plastic face. Additionally, to cater to specific design preferences, the face can display varying colors in the daytime and switch to a distinct hue when lit at night.

A twist on the standard, these letters let the neon shine. They’re designed with a clear acrylic face, not just for aesthetic appeal, but to protect the neon and prevent avian interferences. The exposed neon, combined with the visible interior, adds depth, ensuring your sign stands out, day or night.

These channel letters come with a unique molded plastic backer, featuring a raised edge. A snap-on plastic cover, available in flat, round, or prismatic designs, completes the look. The translucent cover ensures light emission from both the face and sides. Customizations, like vinyl applications, allow for diverse lighting effects, including the sought-after halo effect.

Adding a touch of elegance, back-lit letters project their illumination onto the wall behind them, producing a distinctive halo. With their aluminum face, LEDs inside, and often a clear back, they are set slightly off the building’s facade, creating a sophisticated nighttime visual.
